My yoga journey is a story similar to so many others. What first brought me to the mat was the physical. Over time, with the support of my teachers, I continued the practice not just for the physical postures but for the yoga union of body, mind, and spirit.

Embracing the idea of taking my yoga off the mat, I began considering what I could contribute to the yoga community. With my previous experience working as an interpreter for the deaf, and working with the special needs population in the public school system, it seemed a natural fit to share yoga with the deaf and special needs communities. I am committed to the belief that everyone should have equal access to yoga.

I am a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, 500 hour certified with more than 1,000 hours of teaching experience. During my yoga journey I participated in a 200-hour program which was taught in conjunction with the Deaf Yoga Foundation, where I learned how to teach Deaf-friendly yoga classes using American Sign Language. Additionally, I have taken a Yoga for Special Needs training course, and completed the Yoga for the Special Child training with Sonia Sumar. I have also completed The Bhaktishop’s Prenatal Teacher training program.

I have special education experience including autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.

I will always be a student of yoga. And by supporting students in their own personal yoga journey, in an environment where they can be themselves, they can explore ways to use yoga in real life.
